BAGDOGRA/ NJP - THIMPHU via Phuentsholing :

Early morning arrival & transfer to Phuentsholing. (160 KM, 4 hrs drive).

Phuentsholing is a thriving commercial centre on the edge of the Indian-Bhutan Plains.
Complete the immigration formalities at Phuentsholing and transfer to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
Phuentsholing - Thimphu (176 KM , 6 hrs drive Altitude of Thimphu: 2248mts)

Tashichhoe Dzong
Tashich Dzong (meaning Fortress of the Glorious Religion) has been the seat of Bhutan's government since 1968.---- It presently houses the throne room and offices of the king, the cabinet secretariat and the ministries of home affairs and finance.
Takin Reserve
A wildlife reserve area for Takin, the national animal of Bhutan.

A National Centre for professional training in weaving design and production of Bhutanese Textile

THIMPHU - PUNAKHA via Dochu La (80 KM, 3.5 hours driving)

After breakfast, proceed towards Punakha, located at an elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level and by the two main rivers of Bhutan, the Pho Chu and Mo Chu.

Dochu La
Dochu La (30 KM, 1 hour driving time) - A mountain pass, offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges comes on the way to Punakha. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 Chortens gracing the mountain pass. Halt here for some time and then proceed to Punakha
Chimi Lakhang
Famously known as the temple of fertility, the lhakhang draws local people, from near and far, to receive blessings from the lama (monk). ----The local people also bring their new-borns to be named here. The lhakhang is truly a revered and blessed space for many.
Punakha Dzong
the marvelous Fortress, situated on the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu.
Punakha Suspension Bridge
One of the longest suspension footbridges in Bhutan. Stretching across the majestic Pho Chu river, the Punakha suspension bridge is 180 m (590 ft) in length. It's definitely worth walking across for the experience.

PUNAKHA - PARO (150 kms, 4.5 hours driving)

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro.

The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley.

After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would include the following places:

• Kyichu Lakhang - Famous Monastery in Paro.
• Ta Dzong - National Musuem of Bhutan.
• Rimpung Dzong or Paro Dzong Buddhist Monastery & Fortress

Kyichu Lakhang
The lhakhang was built to subdue a demoness (Sin Mo) and all of the 108 temples were said to have been built on the same day to subjugate her and ensure the propagation of Buddhism. ---It is located north of Paro about five minute's drive from town.
Rimpung Dzong or Paro Dzong
Rinpung Dzong, sometimes referred to as Paro Dzong, is a large dzong - Buddhist monastery and fortress - of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school in Paro District, Bhutan. ----It houses the district Monastic Body as well as government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag.

PARO Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tigers Nest) -OR- Chelela Pass Trip

The main temple houses a sacred statue of Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism.
It will be 4-5 hours trekking to reach the Monastery & Back.

Taktsang Monastery
Paro Taktsang, is a sacred Vajrayana Himalayan Buddhist site located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan.---- It is one of thirteen Tiger's Nest caves in historical Tibet in which Padmasambhava practiced and taught Vajrayana.

PARO to BAGDOGRA/ NJP via Phuentsholing

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive all the way to Phuentsholing. (160 KM, 5 hr driving)

Change the vehicle & say GOOD BYE to BHUTAN.

Drive from Phuentsholing to Bagdogra/NJP Station. (160 KM, 4 hr driving)

  • The tour price for Foreign Nationals and NRIs is different than Indian Nationals.

  • For Foreign Nationals and NRIs, Sustainable Development Fee charged as per the Bhutan’s New Tourism Policy is 200 $ per person per night.

  • Foreign Nationals and NRI guests need Visa for Bhutan, for which USD 40 will be added along with SDF to the tour price.

Useful Tips Before Booking

  • For hill station tour do carry light warm cloth during Summer & heavy warm cloths during Winter

  • Carry pair of Thermal wear for Chelela Pass trip.

  • Bhutan is a tobacco free zone, so no smoking in and around town.

  • Whenever you visit Dzong you are asked to wear full sleeve clothes, no caps and photography allowed. Guide will inform you in advance.

  • The country is a litter free zone so we request our guest not to throw anything outside the window or inside the bus.

  • Carry INR 100 & 200 Rupee denomination in Bhutan. Rupee denomination note of INR 500 are not accepted in Bhutan.

  • All SIM Cards will work in Bhutan if you get your International Roaming activated (Differs from service provider to service provider). It will not work without International Roaming.

  • They have strict traffic rules and at some places vehicle cannot go; guest are requested to co-operate with it.
