GUWAHATI AIRPORT / Station SHILLONG (130 KMS / 3 hrs drive)

Welcome to the gateway of Northeast India! After landing in Guwahati, set out on a scenic drive to Shillong — a journey of around 3 hours that takes you from the bustling plains into the misty green hills of Meghalaya. Check into your cozy hotel and relax for a bit.

Enroute visit Umiam Lake (if time permits).

Umiam Lake
The gentle Umiam Lake is one of the reasons why the Guwahati-Shillong route is considered one of the most scenic in the region. Umiam lake was built by the Assam State Electricity Board in the early 1960s. The maximum depth of the lake is around 200 ft

SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG (60kms/2hrs-One way)

After breakfast, gear up for a beautiful drive to Cherrapunji (locally known as Sohra), about two hours away.
Places to Visit:
• Dwan Syiem view point
• Noh kalikai falls,
• Mawsmai caves
• Seven Sister falls
• Eco park etc
Later drive back to Shillong.
On the way visit to Elephant Falls.
In the evening, you can go for shopping at Police Bazar.

Overnight in Shillong.
Dwan Syiem view point
A famous view points located left on the Duwan Singh Syiem Bridge on the road that connects Shillong to Cherrapunji . The V shaped wavy green hills and valleys, the dense forests, the meandering falls and rivers make this view point a spectacular site.
Noh Kalikai Falls
Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. The 340 metres waterfall is located in the Indian state of Meghalaya, near Cherrapunjee
Mawsmai caves
The cave is also famous for its fossils, some which you can spot if you spend some time peering at the walls and formations inside. The ten longest caves (and more) in the country are all in Meghalaya.
Seven Sister falls
It is believed that the seven waterfalls symbolise seven women sisters who were thought to be spiritual beings that fled a suitor by transforming into water spilling over the cliff.

SHILLONG – DAWKI – MAWLYNNONG – SHILLONG(85kms / 3hrs-One way)

After breakfast drive from Shillong to Mawlynnong Village. Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the Single Decker living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.

Visit Dawki, the Bangladesh Border (Tamabil Border from Bangladesh side). Main attraction is the Umgot river with crystal clear water . You can enjoy along boat ride there, payment will be direct.
Evening return back to Shillong. Check in Hotel.

ROOT BRIDGE
The Living Root Bridge Mawlynnong, Meghalaya. This unique bridge is made of roots of living trees; The bridge was made by the Khasi people and demonstrates the great inventiveness and resourcefulness of those people, which is helpful for construction of bridges that will sustain long time and any weather.
DAWKI
A river which flows through Dawki, a small town located at the bottom of the Jaintia Hills in West Jaintia Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. famed for its unparalleled natural beauty, and is one of the cleanest rivers in the world. This pristine river flows through Mawlynnong, which has also been dubbed as 'Asia's cleanest village' and is located near India's border with Bangladesh.

After breakfast drive to Guwahati. Check in hotel.
Half day local sightseeing in Guwahati.

Balaji temple
The temple has a Rajagopuram (70 feet in height), a Maha Mandapam, an Ardha Mandapam, and the Sanctorum. There is a Ganesha Temple at the entrance of the complex. The main temple is the home of Lord Balaji. Unique rituals like hair donation are performed here, and the temple provides extensive facilities to ensure a comfortable pilgrimage experience. The Hindu scriptures magnificently describe this temple as the earthly dwelling place of Lord Vishnu during the Kali era.
Umananda Temple
The Umananda temple, located on the Peacock Island, is one of the important temples of Guwahati. Situated in the middle of River Brahmaputra, this temple is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. During the festival of Shivratri, every year, a large number of devotees visit this temple.

DEPARTURE GUWAHATI AIRPORT / RAILWAY STATION (110 kms / 3 hrs)

Morning after breakfast visit Kamakhya temple & later transfer to Guwahati airport or Railway station.

kamakhya temple
The kamakhya temple is one of the biggest Shakti shrines in the country. Situated on the Nilachal hills, this temple is an important pilgrimage centre for tantric worshippers and Hindus. The temple is unique in the sense that there is no idol or image of the Goddess. There stands a block of stone in a corner on which the symbol of yoni (female genital) has been sculptured. It is this vulva shaped that is worshipped as the Goddess Kamakhya herself.
